POYET TARGETTED BY BIG CLUBS

Brighton and Hove Albion could be without their manager Gus Poyet at the start of the new season after it was revealed that the former Chelsea player is currently being touted by the likes of Aston Villa, West Brom, and Wolverhampton Wanderers to lead their clubs next season. All the aforementioned clubs are without a manager prior to the start of the next season. Aston Villa recently sacked manager Alex McLeish after a poor campaign, while West Brom had to lose manager Roy Hodgson, who has taken over the England duties. Gus Poyet’s last involvement in the Premier league was with Tottenham as an assistant manager.

He has been doing an impressive job with the Championship team Brighton and Hove Albion. However, it is thought that he could well be looking at a new challenge in the next few days. The former Chelsea player has been able to develop a great reputation for himself in the game after a hugely impressive spell with Brighton and Hove Albion. He has been able to replicate the Barcelona style of attacking football at the Championship club to impressive results. Even though he has not been able to get promotion with the club, he has been doing a sterling job given his limited finances.

Gus Poyet turned down the opportunity to join Swansea back in 2010 as he revealed that saving Brighton and Hove Albion from relegation was a bigger priority to him in his managerial career. It remains to be seen if he will be interested in taking over new club after achieving a lot with the current club in these few years. Brighton and Hove Albion managed a respectable 10th place finish in the Championship with 66 points on the board, which was only a few points off the play-off position.
