STRIKER NEEDED

Brighton and Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet has said that the club needs to sign at least one striker before the close of the transfer window. The manager has said that it is extremely vital that the club needs to find a way to score goals. Brighton were held to a goalless match against Cardiff. It was the first point of the season for the club after they lost in the first match of the season. Despite the need for a striker, the Brighton manager Gus Poyet revealed that the club have not agreed a fee with the Premier league club West Ham for the services of the striker Frederic Piquionne.

There are only a few days left in the transfer window and many clubs in the Championship are anxious to complete the spending for the summer so that they have scored ready to challenge for the promotion places. Brighton are one of the club’s looking to get into the Premier league. Gus Poyet has revealed that he may even go down the option of getting a player on a loan deal till the end of the season. However, he has not ruled out spending the money because in football one needs to spend in order to be successful.

“We need a striker but we are not close enough to getting that striker. Quality is expensive and to be at the top you need to spend. People say that there is a financial crisis in the world but there isn’t one in football and money is spent when it is needed to be. We would consider bringing in a striker on loan from a Premier League club. I am relaxed but worried we are losing time,” said the manager after the match against Cardiff. Brighton have played two matches and have only one point on the board.
